HOW TO USE THE CALENDAR
• You can now check availability at Puri Asu Resort using the online reservation calendar.
• Navigate to your desired dates and click the date to open up the reservation detail page.
• Fill out all of the required information including your credit card information. This will “hold” your booking.
• Once we can double check your requested dates are open we will contact you and make plans to charge $500 USD of the booking total on the same card used to hold the reservation.
• You will receive confirmation and the next set of instructions once the deposit payment has processed.
Please note: Trips on this calendar are on a Monday to following Wednesday schedule (9 days/9 nights). Custom dates are also available, please inquire if you need alternate dates.

Superior Room – $250 USD/person/night or $2,250 per trip
Standard Room – $125 USD/person/night or $1,125 per trip
Non-surfers, companions or children (7 – 15 years old) will cost $100 USD per person per night
*Round-trip transfer to/from the airport to resort is an additional $150 USD
ONLINE DEPOSIT AND FINAL PAYMENT TERMS
• Deposit required to “hold” your booking is US$0 PER PERSON. All that is required is to fill in the required information and include your credit card information. This will put a hold on the dates you want and give us an opportunity to make sure the spaces you have reserved are still open.
• Once we can confirm the availability an additional deposit of $500 USD is required to confirm your booking. Deposits are non-refundable.
• The final balance is due 60 days before the trip starts and is non-refundable.
• Travel insurance with inclusion for Medivac is mandatory; details of Policy- Insurance Company and contact details to be forward to World Wave Expeditions 30 days before departure.
• A current passport with 6 months validity from date of entry to Indonesia required.
• Bookings made inside of 60 days require full payment within 7 days of confirmation.

How
Guests arrive at Medan International Airport (KNO) Sumatra (Guest responsibility)
Medan is reachable from Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manilla, and other major Asian capitals.
Guests arriving in Medan before 12:00 noon can proceed directly to Nias and Asu.
For guests arriving in Medan after 12:00 noon our agent “Boraspati Travel” picks up guests at the airport in Medan and takes them to a 3-4 star hotel close to the airport for the night.
The following morning around 6am, guests fly 50 minutes to Nias Island Gunungsitoli, Binaka Airport (GNS)(Guests organize this and pay directly to our agent Boraspati Express Tour).
Puri Asu Resort driver picks guests up at the Nias Airport and drives across Nias Island (2 hours) to Sirombu Harbor. Their speedboat takes guests from the harbor to Asu Island in 30 minutes ( This is included round trip in the $150 transfer fee)
Guests usually arrive on Asu Island around 10:00-11:00 AM.

From Binaka Airport Nias (GNS) to Sirombu Harbor then Asu Island and back to Nias Airport (GNS).
Arrival/Departures in Medan and transfer to and from Nias Island are done directly by World Wave Expeditions.

Puri Asu resort is beautifully positioned, facing a vast area of 8000m2 sea, surrounded by pristine sand and coconut and palm trees. Behind the resort, is an equally beautiful sight of a jungle and an amazing Asu bay view.
Puri Asu can also boast of its unique private 40m pier on the island, directly into the sea which makes for easy loading and unloading of boats, jet ski’s, paddles etc… offering convenience and safety in any weather condition.
Puri Asu resort offers traditional Sumatra bungalows, with beautiful hand polished timber floors and custom wood furniture. These bungalows are situated four feet high off the ground, and provide wide, airy rooms with air-conditioning and fans.
The bathrooms have hot showers and are on the second floor offering a spectacular view! The bungalows have beautiful balconies, giving you the opportunity to take in the view.

The Puri Asu Resort Restaurant offers their guests a relaxed atmosphere in the most idyllic setting with some of the tastiest food in theSumatra.
Each day the resort’s chef prepares a variety of food and as often as possible, uses seafood caught by local fishermen and our guests.
Breakfast:
All guests order individually from a wide selection of breakfast choices. 7:00am – 10:00am
Lunch:
• Standard accommodation guests have a set menu and it is different every day.

Activities
The tropical paradise that surrounds Puri Asu Resort offers more than just amazing surfing. The resort offers plenty of recreational equipment to make exploring and enjoying the local environment easy for all guests. Stand-up paddle boards, fishing equipment,snorkelling gear, and so much more are available for use, free of charge, so the whole family can get out and enjoy the surroundings.
Fishing
The fishing is very good in the waters close to the resort. Guests usually troll at the end of the day and hope for some fresh sashimi for dinner. Trolling equipment is provided by the resort. If you want to try your hand at casting jigging or popping they recommend you bring a pole and a few midsize lures. There are Wahoo, Spanish Mackeral, small Tuna, Barracuda, Trevally, Mahi Mahi and Sailfish in the area. The resort will take you fishing upon request any time weather permits.
Snorkeling
There is good snorkeling right in front of the resort. Equipment is provided free of charge for guests. If the waves are flat there are a few additional spots in the area to try out.
Yoga/Gym Equipment
There is a central Yoga gazebo as well as a beachfront Yoga gazeebo. Yoga mats are free of charge. There is also an assortment of Gym and training equipment for you to use free of charge.

They offer two types of packages, standard and superior. The main difference is the Superior Package is access to brand new private villas with King sized beds and en-suite bathrooms.
The Standard package is shared accommodation with single or Queen sized beds and shared bathrooms. If they are not full at the time of your stay you will most likely have your own room but that is not guaranteed.

FAQ
1. WHAT KIND OF VISA DO I NEED TO VISIT PURI ASU RESORT AND WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?
Visitors to Indonesia get a free 30 day visa upon arrival.
Passport must be valid for 6 months from date of entry.
You can purchase an extendable 30 day visa upon arrival at the airport. This visa may be extended 0ne time for a total stay of 60 days.
2. WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SURFING AT PURI-ASU RESORT? ARE THERE GOOD WAVES FOR INTERMEDIATE SURFERS? Asu and Bawa are up to 4-5 feet and are very accessible to intermediate surfers. The other waves (Salonako, Afulu, Bommie and Hamutala) can be surfed by intermediate up to 6 feet.
3. DO I NEED TO BRING CASH TO THE PURI ASU RESORT? They accept cash payment by Indonesian Rupiah (local cash) Euro or USD. Local cash is great to have for buying souvenirs from the locals. There is no ATM available once you arrive in Asu, so please withdraw cash from an ATM in Medan or Gnungsitoli before departing. The only money you will NEED is for extras at the resort such as snacks, bar bill, lobster dinners, baggage complications or laundry.
4. WHAT IS THE CLIMATE AND AREA AROUND ASU LIKE?
Puri Asu Resort is located in a very remote and pristine part of the world 1° north of the equator. The climate is tropical and the weather is hot and humid with rainfall occurring all year.
5. WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT IS AVAILABLE FOR GUESTS TO USE?
Snorkelling: There are sets of fins and masks for guest use free of charge.
Stand Up Paddling: There are two stand up paddle boards with paddles available for guests at any time.
Fishing: Rods and tackle are available for trolling off the power boats.
Jungle Walks: Walking through the jungle on the island is an adventure. Home to beautiful and unique wildlife, friendly local people and beautiful plants and foliage.
6. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT?
Traditionally, April 01 through to November 30 is regarded as the best time to surf Asu and others spots in the area.
7. HOW DO WE GET TO THE RESORT?
Guests arrive at Medan International Airport (KNO) Sumatra. Guests then fly 50 minutes to Nias Island Gunungsitoli, Binaka Airport (GNS). Adriver picks guests up at the airport and drives across Nias Island (2 hours of beautiful tropical scenery) to Sirombu Harbor. Their speedboat takes guests from the harbour to Asu Island in 30 minutes.
* We can reserve a hotel room for you and payment is taken when you arrive. If you require an over-night stay in Medan, we highly recommend DANAUTOBA HOTEL which is where guests meet on the trip commencement date and in Gnungsitoli we recommend Miga Beach Hotel.
8. IN THE CASE OF A MEDICAL EMERGENCY
Resort management will assist in contacting your travel insurance company to arrange emergency evacuation. Puri Asu Resort is not held responsible for emergency evacuation availability or costs and this is agreed upon by all guests in the terms of conditions which all guests must agree to before visiting the resort.
9.WHAT ABOUT MALARIA?
Over the last 10 years there has been no case of Malaria in Asu Island. Regardless of that, every guest must avoid mosquito bites by using repellent or clothing coverage.
10. SHOULD I BRING A FIRST-AID KIT OR MEDICAL SUPPLIES?
Yes! We do have medical supplies and a first aid kit, but we strongly recommend that guests bring their own as well, as they are in high demand and certain supplies can deplete quickly, so having a personal stash is well worth it. At the least, we recommend the usual reef cut kit such as an antiseptic to clean cuts, ointment to apply to them as they heal and whatever types of bandage you like (gauze & tape, Band-Aids, etc.). We also suggest guests bring a course of antibiotics in case of infection.
11. HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE?
Get Fit! Make sure you’re at your best to surf these waves. Surfing is a sport of extreme skill and you need to feel safe to surf here.
